Laura Brino is an indie folk-pop singer-songwriter whose music lives where vulnerability meets resilience—blending the warmth of folk, the drive of rock, and the shimmer of pop. Known for heartfelt lyrics, breathy vocal delivery, and emotionally charged refrains, her songs explore motherhood, identity, love, and survival with unflinching honesty. Whether performing solo with her guitar or leading a full band, Laura’s live shows move fluidly between intimacy and catharsis, filling rooms with both laughter and tears.
Based in Annapolis, Maryland, Laura began playing piano and writing songs at age eight. At sixteen, she taught herself guitar and attended her first open mic that same year—an experience that cemented her calling as a performer and songwriter. From those early stages, music became both her compass and her craft, shaping a lifelong dedication to storytelling through song.
In her twenties, Laura released three independent albums and toured regularly along the East Coast, performing at venues including The Bitter End, Jammin Java, and Rams Head On Stage, among many others. During that chapter she also released Snowglobe under Lily and the Pearl, her collaborative project with her husband, which, along with her three earlier albums, garnered a licensing deal with Deep Elm Records. After a ten-year hiatus from recording, she returned with No More Surprises (2022), followed by Cactus Moon (2024), a deeply personal exploration of trauma and healing. That same year, she released Cactus Moon Rising, a documentary chronicling the album’s creation and the near-death experience she endured during the birth of her second daughter—an intimate portrait of artistic and personal rebirth.
Late 2025 and early 2026 marked a prolific creative chapter with the releases of Empty Room Sessions (November 2025), Bona Dea (December 2025), and the Songs for a Dangerous Ice Storm EP (January 2026), with her forthcoming album The Other Side set for later in 2026. Her songwriting has been recognized with numerous honors, including 2nd Place in the 2025 Common Grounds Songwriting Competition, finalist in the 2025 WXPN 24-Hour Songwriting Challenge, finalist for the 2025 Bernard/Ebb Songwriting Award, and again a finalist for the 2026 Bernard/Ebb Songwriting Award.
Beyond her own releases, Laura is a founder of the Songbird Festival and Songbird Collective, initiatives dedicated to uplifting women and non-binary artists through performance, mentorship, and community. She can be found performing at showcases and festivals throughout the East Coast, continuing to build spaces where authenticity and artistry thrive.

"...her songs are the warm coffee on a rainy day. Or the oh-so-sought-after light at the end of the tunnel in the world of folk music. She maintains her femininity without being too demanding about it. Her beauty in her words is just as important as her folk music stamina that is very important this day and age..." -FensePost
