Based in Annapolis, Maryland, Laura Brino is an indie folk-pop singer-songwriter whose music feels like a warm cup of coffee on a rainy day. Blending folk, rock, and pop, her catchy refrains and heartfelt lyrics capture the essence of life's complexities, while paying homage to her influences like Joni Mitchell, Ani DiFranco and Phoebe Bridgers.
With performances at venues like Rams Head On Stage and Jammin Java, as well as Rockwood Music Hall and The Bitter End in New York, Laura has captivated audiences across the U.S. Her journey began in the late '90s, leading to the release of six studio albums, including a collaboration with her husband, Sean “Dracula” Jackson, under Lily and the Pearl.
Her latest album, Cactus Moon (2024), reflects a journey through motherhood, trauma, and healing, born from a deeply personal process during a decade-long hiatus. Praised for her "superb original songs" and "breathy vocal delivery," Laura's down to earth delivery and authentic storytelling connect with the audience as she brings them along her journey, often filling the room with both tears and laughter.
Currently, she’s working on The Other Side, her next studio album set for a May 2025 release. Dive into her world—it's a musical light at the end of the tunnel.
"...her songs are the warm coffee on a rainy day. Or the oh-so-sought-after light at the end of the tunnel in the world of folk music. She maintains her femininity without being too demanding about it. Her beauty in her words is just as important as her folk music stamina that is very important this day and age..." -FensePost
"Superb original songs, a great pop sensibility, a beautiful voice...Brino wears her heart on her sleeve." - B Magazine
"Brino's breathy vocal delivery lends itself perfectly to her catchy and quick-witted refrains..." - Performer
